Myleene Klass : determined to prove that Filipina women are Worldclass!
Myleene Angela Klass (born 6 April 1978) is an English actress, singer, model, pianist, radio and television presenter, formerly a member of the short lived UK pop band Hear’Say. Musician, writer and, latterly, M&S model, Klass has been playing the piano and violin since she was four and was recently nominated for a Classical Brit award for an album of her own compositions. She presents the morning show at weekends on Classic FM and her new BBC show will bring choral music to prime-time TV
Before finding fame via Popstars, Klass provided backing vocals on tour with the likes of k.d. lang, Michael Crawford and Robbie Williams. She has also toured with Cliff Richard.
In 1998, Klass spent a short period as part of a reality show for Bravo, called The Doll’s House.
On 13 November 1999, Klass was also a featured back up singer for Cliff Richard’s ITV1 An Audience With TV special, appearing on stage with him for a rendition of the recent number-one single The Millennium Prayer. Read the rest of this entry »

Charice Pempengco sings with Josh Groban and other US stars, wows Vegas

Young singer Charice once again proved her singing prowess as she got two standing ovations for her performance with musician-record producer David Foster’s discoveries for a benefit concert at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas last Friday, May 23rd.
For the event entitled “David Foster & Friends” in front of an audience of almost 10,000, Charice sang a medley of Whitney Houston’s hits- “I Will Always Love You” and “I Have Nothing”.
These songs are from the original sound track of “The Bodyguard” which was produced by Foster. “And I Am Telling You” is from the original soundtrack of “Dreamgirls”, also produced by Foster. Read the rest of this entry »

Ramiele Malubay : American Idol Finalist
Ramiele Malubay (born September 6, 1987 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia) is a Filipino American singer and was the 9th place finalist on the seventh season of American Idol.
Malubay was born in Saudi Arabia to Filipino parents Roger Malubay and Alicia Macrowon, who worked in Saudi Arabia. She grew up in the Philippines and the United States and graduated from Zephyrhills High School in Zephyrhills, Florida. Malubay spent most of her early years in the Philippines, but currently resides in Miramar, Florida. She is currently a nursing student at Broward Community College. She started Polynesian Dancing when she was in the first grade and started singing at the age of twelve. She can speak fluent Tagalog & Ilocano.
She successfully auditioned for American Idol in August, 2007 when she sang Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”. Read the rest of this entry »

Proudly Pinoy : Original Pilipino Music
Traditional Filipino Music is generally a confluence of Western styles and our own ethnic music. In modern times, however, Filipino music is similar to modern music that is heard in any part of the world.
Original musical works by Filipino artists is usually referred to as “Original Pilipino Music” or OPM. Many song and music artists of the Philippines usually use Tagalog and English for the lyrics of their songs. Thus, if you listen to any local FM radio station, it would not be a surprise to hear OPM songs with English lyrics and titles.
One of the best contemporary artists that have made a lot of Filipino music is Mr. Ryan Cayabyab.
Ryan is a professor of the University of the Philippines conservatory if music and is currently the head and conductor of the San Miguel Philharmonic orchestra.
