Lobo wins Best Telenovela award at World TV fest awards
ABS-CBN’s once again proved its TV supremacy in the Philippines as fantaserye “Lobo” starring Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual was recently named Best Telenovela in the 30th BANFF World Television Festival held at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Toronto, Canada.
Lobo is Angel Locsin’s first telenovela in ABS-CBN – Its a fantasy tv series that premiered last January 2008 and ended July the same year.
According to GoodnewsPilipinas.com Lobo was chosen from over 800 entries representing 29 countries. Twenty-three were chosen as category winners and “Lobo” was one of the selected few.
“Lobo” depicted the love story of Lyka (Angel), a woman who belongs to a clan of white wolves, and Noah, who portrayed an army officer who falls in love with Lyka.
Banff World Television Festival is a prestigious affair dedicated to world television programming, including its creation and development.
It is attended by renowned celebrities, writers, directors, and producers from broadcast and production companies around the globe.
