Pacquiao – Hatton match among 2009 Boxing Dream Fights
Manny Pacquiao’s anticipated fight with British superstar Ricky Hatton has already become one of the “Dream Fights” of 2009 according to boxing Web site BoxingTalk.com.
Boxing Talk’s Ryan Burton, who has listed 10 of the most anticipated fights of 2009, said a Pacquiao-Hatton match up is sure to present “lots of action”.
“After Ricky’s demolition of Paul Malignaggi and Manny’s destruction of Oscar de la Hoya, this fight is sure to be all action. Ricky seems to be reborn under trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.’s tutelage and PacMan is at the peak of his career,” Burton said in his article.
The Pacquiao-Hatton match is Top 2 in Burton’s list, second only to a match between Antonio Margarito-Paul Williams.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum earlier said negotiations for the Pacquiao-Hatton fight are currently ongoing. If everything turns up right, the match will take place on May 2.
“If Manny wins, it may lead to the real dream match,” said Burton. He said he hopes it would lead to the next fight on his list.
