2FK is a Filipino Hip-Hop duo
2FK is a Filipino Hip-Hop duo that consists of Scarfase and Shiftee. The group is perhaps best known for their street, underground delivery as shown on their mix “New Blood.” 2FK emerged on the Hip-Hop scene by independently releasing songs/mixes online. The name of the group stands for Too Fucking Krazy, which originated from Shiftee’s group of friends in Sydney, Australia.
Scarfase and Shiftee are both members of the Club G Family but only started to talked about rapping together back in 2007 on Markie Madness’ birthday celebration in Makati City, Philippines. Both rappers are heavily influenced by Nas and the late Tupac Shakur which became the common direction of the group. 2FK catapulted itself as one of the aspiring new generation Filipino artists through its straightforward narration of street life.

Their lyrics often referenced to crime, drug dealing and violence but also took issue upon poverty, social consciousness and injustice. Shiftee took the role secondary lyricist, while Scarfase assumed the position of primary lyricist by crafting most of their songs’ hooks, concepts and structures.
They are using song instrumentals popularized by foreign artists and remaking it by using their own hooks and verses. They are recording their song mixes on Scarfase’s apartment just using a desktop personal computer and mediocre microphone.
Despite of the poor recording quality, their songs still showed potential, when one of the biggest record labels in the Philippines took notice and contacted them for a possible meeting. They loved the articulate delivery, the catchy hooks and the unique concept of their songs.
However, the meeting never took place because the record label was having second thoughts since the group does not produce their own beats. The duo is currently looking for an in-house/freelance producer that will provide them original beats to close a possible recording contract.
2FK is currently uploading songs on Scarfase’s website http://scarfase.ning.com which is considered as 2FK’s official website as well. The group is also planning to compile their mixes to release their highly anticipated mixtape that will be available soon.
